Why Apple Car Play offline?

Since last iOS update which was supposed to ''solve Apple Car Play'' issues which I ''didn't have'', I am facing ''You're Offline'' every time I want to play Music !

Of course, having a limited data plan, I have always removed the Music App from Cellular data.

I just can't imagine that this is what the ''update'' meant ? To allow carriers to help us bust data plans ? ...

Seriously: why am I now faced with this ''You're Offline'' message whenever I'm not on wifi (obviously not the case in my car), while I never had that issue before ?

Hi there lanstrad1,

We understand you're seeing a "You're Offline" message for Apple Music when not connected to Wi-Fi with cellular data disabled for the app.

If you have cellular data turned off for Apple Music, it is expected for the app to not stream content for use with CarPlay while only connected via cellular.

Well again, this has never been the case since I use this, until that latest update! I have purchased a 256 gb iphone in part to be able to have tons of music downloaded, so to avoid enriching telecom operators! I expect my iphone (connected by wire) to just …. Connect to Car Play and do whatever i need it to do! Play (downloaded) playlists, and connect (with Waze or Maps) whenever I need it (on that front, it works). I don’t expect Music to block me because i don’t want it to use cellular (data) when not in wifi!

wondering if others also experienced such a change with the so-called « update that resolves issues » with Car Play …
