No users on this volume to recover

I’m trying to get in to my M1 MacBook Pro Recovery. The Recovery Assistant just keeps giving me the message “There are no Users on this volume to recover”…

WTH?

I am the only User on this computer, and of course I’m the Admin.

this problem was asked in Nov 2021 and there was no Helpful Answers. So I’m trying now.

I solved it myself. I had to CHOOSE the Start Up volume. It’s the only volume I have on there, but after choosing it, I was able to get to the Recovery screen.
