US iPad warranty coverage in India

My friend is selling me an iPad(second hand) that he bought from USA. If I buy the iPad, will I get the warranty coverage services at Apple India?

Does AppleCare work Internationally? Hello there, I am writing from India. I am planning to buy an iPhone and have asked my friend to buy it for me from the USA where he works. He asked me whether to include Applecare plus for it, here I am in dilemma (after going through lots of websites) about Applecare plus's international warranty, my concerns are listed pointwise as follows. Will it apply to other devices aswell? If I buy it (Applecare plus) along with the phone in the USA and I would be using it here in India, in case of any damage or software issue do I get assistance from Indian authorized apple resellers? No, the warranty is only good in the country of purchase. I recommend that you buy the device in the country where it will be used.
