Logitech combo touch on screen keyboard popping up

Hi,

I am using a Logitech combo touch for my 12.9 ipad.

Usually it works seamlessly, however when I detach the keyboard from the case to write my notes, when I reattach it and click on something to type, the onscreen keyboard comes up. When this happens, I can type on my physical keyboard no problem, but the onscreen keyboard comes up every time I am typing on my keyboard.

If I restart my ipad with keyboard attached, it seems to be recognized and the on screen keyboard does not come up. However, if I detach the keyboard and reattach it, the onscreen keyboard starts popping up again.

To get around this, I have to go to accessibility- turn on assistive touch, toggle on screen keyboard on and off and this sometimes works.

However, this is extremely irritating because I detach and attach my keyboard regularly, as I switch between typing and writing.

I actually exchanged my combo touch keyboard thinking it may have been a glitch, but it seems to be an apple issue. To be clear, when I reattach the keyboard, there is no issue with the connection as I am able to use trackpad and type on the physical keyboard without issue, its just that the on screen keyboard pops up when I am typing.

I have attached screen shots of my keyboard settings. I have contacted apple support for this and no solution was found. I would appreciate any help!
