Messages app on Mac and iPhone doesn't show the contact name.

Is there a way to make the Messages app show the Contact Name instead of, or added to, the unintelligible Integer code? For example, the Indivisible organization sent me a message that they were changing their code to 59798. I can't remember dozens of codes, even if I wanted to. Is there a way to add these codes and their associated names to the Contacts database so Messages can show the name? (macOS Monterey, version 12.1, MacBook Pro (13-inch, M1, 2020)

It sounds as though you’re wanting to add short codes used to message businesses, and other organizations to your contacts list so the contact’s name appears instead of the short code in Messages. Apple Support Communities is a great place for help!
