The USB ports work with every other device except my laptop. I can plug in cameras and USB memory drives without any disconnection. However, when I plug in my iPhone into my Macbook Air 2015 it keeps disconnecting and reconnecting as if I am pulling the wire in and out.
I can connect my iPhone to all other laptops including windows but just not this Macbook Air.
Why does it do this?
If your iPhone works fine elsewhere, then it appears there's an issue with the MacBook. How long has this issue been happening for? Are there any new software updates available for the MacBook you haven't installed? it could be a software bug that could be resolved via software update, if the issue isn't going away with a simple restart of the MacBook.
If you have eliminated the USB port being the problem, is it possible your cable is faulty? Have you tried using another cable? Have you tried using the same cable and iPhone with another computer? That should eliminate the cause of the problem.
Yes, I have tried other cables. The iPhone connects perfectly to all my other laptops (including windows) except my Macbook Air.
