Add widgets

Hi I am trying to add widgets to my iPhone 7 and when I tap the + comes up but when I go to click it doesn’t let me and it also comes up on the right hand side when I have tried this previously it worked

rae ~ As you haven't mentioned already trying this, Apple's iPhone User Guide says: "If your iPhone isn’t working right, you can try restarting it.":

Restart iPhone

Ok I will try ,my phone is cracked will this have to do with anything.
