Hi all,
It's been since before Big Sur so for a good 3/4 years.
Each time I used the search, it crashes. Sometimes immediately when I click the text bar, sometimes I start typing and then it crashes. 100% of the time.
Yesterday I deleted the .musiclibrary file and re-synchronised with my library in apple music/Itunes Cloud Library but it didn't solve the issue.
Any ideas?
Test with a different library to see if the issue is library specific or more likely something up with the app. In days of yore I'd have said to reinstall iTunes, but the only way to reset Music is to reinstall the whole OS, which feels a bit like overkill.

I successfully created a new library and the search feature seems to work well so far 12h in.
I would like to ask you, can you please have a look here ?

Thank you for your suggestion! Indeed in safe mode, Music and its search feature works flawlessly. But once I open in a regular fashion, I'm back to the crashing.
I'm sure it scopes out the issue more but where do I go from there?
I think I will reinstall the whole OS. Ive never done it on this computer since purchase in 2017. It’s been getting sluggish-er as all machine would. And the battery is giving the « servicing needed » message since last week.

Try holding down option+cmd as you launch Music to open it in safe mode. This sometimes clears up various issues in the library.
