Im trying to update from Sierra to Catalina and every time I click the link it goes to a webpage with mac store preview instead of the app store on my mac, any ideas?

I will change the URL to https://apps.apple.com/us/macappstore%20/macos-catalina/id1466841314?Mt=12 - Will try it today and hopefully that does the trick. Left Mac at home
When I open the link it has a FREE option and no GET option
Change the https to macappstore at the beginning of the page address.

I don't know why it works for me and not for you. Try Niel's idea; note, he means to replace "https" with "macappstore"
