Have had some slowdowns, even App Store takes 40 to 120 seconds to fully populate information. I wanted to reinstall 12.2.1 but when I get to "Examining volumes" in "Options" in recovery mode, it reboots back to normal. Never shows any of the options to choose from in recovery mode.

Nope! As my problem description said- the "Options" never gets past "examining" volumes, it just recycles back to a restart.
