Apple tv for travel!!! useless

Apple tv in the home is kinda useless.. with smart tvs everywhere there is not much use for it.

I purchased an apple tv to have my own tv box with me when travel.

After short travel around with apple tv i left it in my suitcase and not using it.

I want to watch tv from my own country while i travel.. problem is VPN is not working with apple tv.. no app so no vpn in hotels which makes it kinda useless for travel.

another big problem i found is that many hotels wifi have a second browser login which does not work on apple tv so again not much use for travel.

what can i do with my new apple tv? waste of space in the home and useless on the go.

i used it less than 1 hour is there any way i can return it and get my money back?!

it took me 2 minutes to write this but even before finish session expired.. it feel like apple does not want posts inhere?
