Manage iCloud Storage Panel - not working - please help!

Hi - just recently this has started happening when I click on 'Manage' against my iCloud storage in Mac System Preferences.

I have tried restarting, signing out of iCloud, signing back in, etc. The usual stuff.

But this persists. The only way to get out of this is either to Force Quit System Prefs or to minimize (command-M) the Sys Prefs and then CTRL-click on the icon and choose Quit.

But more than that, I cannot effectively control my iCloud storage from my mac. Works fine on iPad and iPhone, so it's not critical.

But what's going on here? Any thoughts welcomed!

Device: Mac Mini (2018)

MacOS: Monterey 12.2.1

I found out it is Grammarly Desktop that is causing this - by closing and then reopening each app in turn. Not sure why, but at least I've discovered the culprit!

From your screenshot, we do see that the window is not visible and showing all white when attempting to manage your iCloud storage in System Preferences.

We’d like to have you boot to safe mode and test this there as well. How to use safe mode on your Mac

Having just started in safe mode, the restarted in normal mode this seems to have fixed the problem altogether.

Still curious what was causing it. Any thoughts?

Thanks - in safe mode I see things as they should be. What does this mean then and how would I resolve it in order not to have to boot in safe mode all the time?

Actually, within seconds it went wrong again. Presumably something is loading in normal mode that causes a conflict. How can I identify what it is?
