Error code 100057 - operation can’t be completed

Hello

I just tried to copy a Final Cut Pro .fcpbundle (about 30 GB) via ethernet to another Mac.

After 10GB it stopped and I got that error message:

The operation can’t be completed because an unexpected error occurred (error code 100057).

What can I do?

Thank you!

This is weird:

I found out that when I try to copy that file from Mac#1 to Mac#2 I get the above error,

however when I use Mac#2 to "fetch" that file from Mac#1 – it works!!

So I have found my solution.

Maybe this bug has been fixed in macOS Monterey?

In my case I tried to copy directly to the other Mac (not to a drive connected to it).

Furthermore both Macs are using macOS Catalina, so shouldn't SMB work?

The problem is reproducible.

No problem with smaller files.

I think I have to use SMB. I had read: ""AFP can’t share files on Apple File System (APFS)."

The Google search brings too many results, too many reasons which could cause 100057.
