bluetooth causing high CPU activity

MacBook Air (13-inch, 2017) running ver 12.2.1

Notice fan activity a few times recently and the area on the base top left is getting very hot. On investigation using utilities the Bluetooth module is triggering high CPU activity, it seems to be searching for a device not always the same one. Using the activity monitor app to force close Bluetooth stops the battery being drained and fixes the issue. As this has happened a few time now set Bluetooth OFF so it does not run on power up. Just wondered if anyone else has seen the same problem.
