Follow the advice in the section, "Preventing unexpected shutdowns" in iPhone Battery and Performance. This link has the most frequent solutions to troubleshooting when your iPhone is shutting down unexpectedly.
After reading that section on unexpected shutdowns, you'll then want to jump down to the "Battery Health" section of the above resource and see if you're getting any messages about your battery. If there is a message, it will help you to figure out your next steps.
