How do you set up a web server on Mac?

I always was thinking about creating a web server on my Mac. How do you do it?

Monterey, view localhost website over local network? I've set up a localhost server as per these awesome instructions: Setting up a local web server on macOS 12… - Apple Community I can view the resources in that directory correctly via a browser on the computer the localhost is set up on but I want to access the webpage from another computer on the same local network. At the moment I get a "Forbidden" notice. Is there a simple way to do this?

Running a web server I read this https://www.dyclassroom.com/howto-mac/how-to-install-apache-mysql-php-on-macos-catalina-10-15 and another a recent thread in another Apple Community forums. WHY can't i ask there?! oh well. ALL i want is the web server, no need for php or scripts, ssl, etc. I own the domain name, already running. everything i need to know is in the above article; EXCEPT THIS (right?): where do i enter my domain and/or ip? this is to run from home off my own machine (as it is now, but i want to upgrade the OS and will lose my site and the Server app -- newer server app has no web service, as you know I' am sure: MAJOR COMPLAINT! as I type from High Sierra, unable to upgrade). Thanks ps: why don't these articles include that? I just be missing brain cells or something.

What Mac model/year/OS do you have?

If this will be a publicly accessible server, use a web hosting service rather than doing it on your computer.

Typically you need a business internet account to operate a public-facing webserver. You provider can tell if you have one by the traffic to your public IP address.
