Black Portrait Photos

Hi. I've just read messages on here about images turning black on a mac, portrait images, messages dating back to 2012! I've never had the problem until I bought a new Mac Pro in Oct 2021, when all my portrait images now turn black after upload. Apple help have been surprised by it but seeing similar messages from so long ago I don't know why. They have tried to say it's a problem with the SD card when it's not in the camera but I don't see that to be the case, it wouldn't only happen to portrait shots and never happened with my old Mac Pro. Anyone still having the problems?

MacBook Pro 13″, macOS 10.13

Hi

What version of MacOS do you have, and with which phone are you taking the portrait images. If you have an iPhone 13 you will need Monterey to edit the portrait photos with that phone.

Alternatively - try reverting one of the problem images. (Select then image>revert to original)

Also - how are you transferring the images to your mac?

Where is your library stored? If on an external drive, what is the format?
