Apple Car Play Issue after IOS 15.3.1

I have checked, double checked all settings, shut the phone down and the car several times and the cable to well functioning iPhone XR. Since the latest update a few days ago, Apple Car Play is so buggy it’s useless. Apple Maps won’t track my location unless I put in a specific search. Google maps show my location but no street names only a few landmarks. I never had any trouble before this, What a mess. I have a 2022 Toyota with firmware up to date. How can I fix this?

All fixed. I reached out to Apple Support. After doing a number of things which showed no issues with the settings, deleted the Google and Apple Maps Apps from my phone and reinstalled them. Now Apple Car Play's working perfectly.

Thank you. I tried all the steps, even used a new cable, checked to make sure I was even in the right view on maps-- everything. I really miss using Google Maps and will reach out to Apple Support. I was able to successfully use Apple Maps today but to be honest, the real time traffic data is just not as accurate as Google's. I live in a major city and the route suggested to me by Apple Maps only a few hours ago was definitely not the best route. Lucky to have been in an area I know well and reroute on my own.
