Magic Keyboard shortcut keys

I connected a new Magic Keyboard, Feb 19, 2022. The top row of Fn/shortcut keys are not operating as I have been accustomed to on the wireless Apple keyboard from 2009. How may I gain the function of these shortcut keys? Particularly, the screen brightness and dimmer keys, the Expose key, and the three keys (F10, 11, 12) which control volume. The only keys which respond are the F11/Vol. down key and the F12/Vol. up key. The F11 removes all windows from the desktop and returns them when pressed again. The F12 key shifts to another blank blue screen and returns to the windows on the desktop. All other keys on the top row other than EXC and lock key do not function.

This may or maynot be germane to the issue but I was not able to use the bluetooth feature of the keyboard. The reason was the cable provided had a USB-C plug, whereas, my iMac (late 2009) only has the larger USB ports. So, I was not able to charge the keyboard and hence pair with the computer. I purchased the next day a 2-meter Lightning to USB cable. Use of this cable is full time in order to operate the keyboard.

There is no match of your picture in my Keyboard System Preferences in the sub-windows labeled Keyboard, Text, Shortcuts, Input Sources, Dictions. Instead, there is this

Under System Preference > Keyboard > Shortcuts > Keyboard, the following keys did have checks.

F1, F2, F3, F4, F5, F6, F7, F8

As you directed I unchecked them. By doing so their font became subdued as shown here.

There was no results when the brightness keys were tested.

Under Mission Control the F11 & F12 were checked. I also unchecked them.

Testing volume control afterwards was a negative results. Oddly enough there is no listing for F9, the mute key.

And then there is this odd duck.

I say odd because the keyboard does not have such keys.
