I can pair my hearing aids with Apple tv just fine. My issue is that Apple tv seems to think of them as default, and select them when other family members try to watch something. Annoying for them, and for me. I have selected the tv speakers as the default speakers. What can I do to fix this?

After you made the TV Speakers as the default Audio Output for the Apple TV you might try a Restart on the AppleTV to see if that works. The only other solution I can think of is go to Settings, Remotes and Devices, Bluetooth, My Devices on the AppleTV and remove the pairing of your hearing aids. Yes you would have to pair your hearing aids again when you want to use your hearing aids.
