Zoom not able to connect to camera and microphone

I seem to have a similar problem as many other people. I am running macosx Mojave on a mid 2012 15" macbook pro.

Zoom will prompt me to go to system settings and allow access to camera and microphone, but there is no + or - to add an app to the camera or microphone permissions.

I have followed zooms troubleshooting, uninstalled it and reinstalled, where they later referred me to apple support.

FaceTime and PhotoBooth work, no problem.

I have reset pram, nvram and smc to no avail.

I have tried sudo killall VDCAsstistant with no difference.

Maybe revert to High Sierra? Anyone have any other solutions?

Thank you much!

MacBook Pro 15″, macOS 10.14

Alright, this solved it for me! It required using Terminal and resets all the privacy settings.

First I tried tccutil reset Camera and tccutil reset Microphone, but it didn't work for me. I got error message Failed to reset Microphone

  1. Then I deleted the folder ~/Library/Application\ Support/com.apple.TCC, which had a red icon with white line on it, and emptied the trash.
  2. I entered tccutil reset All
  3. Then I entered tccutil reset Camera, hit Enter.
  4. Then tccutil reset Microphone, hit Enter
  5. For good measure I restarted Finder with sudo killall Finder and entered my admin password when prompted.
  6. When I started up zoom again I got the allow microphone and camera prompt and zoom showed up in the system preferences privacy list of apps with access to microphone and camera.

You may not have to do all these steps to get it to work, but I did all of them for good measure and it didn't hurt anything.
