Videos from iPhone 13 can’t be edited on my ipad

Photos I take with my new iPhone 13 successfully upload to the Cloud and then to my iPad (also new, a year old). However, I can’t EDIT any of those videos on my iPad? With my old iPhone 7, it was never a problem.

I have tried a lot of settings changes.

I have looked this up and followed various advice.

both of my devices upload photos to the cloud.

The error message is

This video cannot be edited because it is unsupported

please help!

It appears that you're unable to edit videos after uploading them to iCloud. Let's see how we can help. Start by going to Settings > Camera. From there, change the format then record a video to test with. After the video is recorded check to see if you're able to edit it after uploading to iCloud.
