External Monitor not recognised by Monterey
My external monitor which has worked fine for over a year under OS 10.12 will now not connect under OS 12,2. I have reset NVRAM as SMC but to no avail.
Any suggestions?

Update to 12.2.1 that was released 2/10 if not already there.
How is the monitor connected to the Mac?
Have you tried different ports on the Mac?
Is it connected via a hub?
Try booting to Safe Mode. That boot up takes minutes and clears caches and other things that may resolve your problem.

A lot of times just boot to Safe Mode followed by normal boot resolves problems.

Yes I tried both - but what actually worked (and I swear it was the first thing I had tried) was using a different HDMI to USB-C cable.
For anyone else having these problems, I am connecting directly into the iMac via a built-in USB-C port.
Problem now sorted
