Move photos from iCloud to iPhone storage

Hi,

I have previously purchased iCloud storage plan for 50GB, I have photos uploaded to iCloud storage, I'd like to move these photos from iCloud storage to phone storage since I have upgraded my phone and have space on my phone now.

When I go to iCloud -> photos and try to toggle off "iCloud Photos" a notification that my photos aren't downloaded appears.

When I tried to downgrade the storage plan (from 50 GB to free 5GB) I get a similar warning.

I have already chosen the option of "download and keep originals" but pictures are still on iCloud not iPhone.

Can anyone assist me with moving pictures to phone storage?

Hello madonna3493,

Downloading photos and videos from iCloud is important, and you’ve come to a great place for help! From the description, it sounds as though you’re being prompted that the photos aren’t downloaded to your iPhone when attempting to disable iCloud Photos and/or downgrade your iCloud+ subscription.

If you previously had Optimize iPhone Storage enabled in Settings > [your name] > iCloud > Photos, or you restored this device to an iCloud backup that can be why the photos aren’t downloaded to the iPhone. To download the photos and videos you would want to follow the steps outlined in the article below. That article also provides the steps for downloading iCloud photos and videos on other devices.

Download iCloud photos and videos

After following those steps to download the photos and videos to your iPhone, complete the steps in the following article. You’ll need uncompress the file that was downloaded to access the photos and videos.

How to open ZIP files on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch

Take care!
