When my computer wakes from sleep, I need to enter my system password. Just started to happen. Am using an iMac, OS 12.2.1.
I have Automatic login set in Users & Groups, and in Keychain Access > "login" Keychain Settings neither 'Lock' settings are checked.
Just wish to have this stop happening.

Are you using Filevault?
Are you using Apple Pay?
Try booting to Safe Mode. That boot up takes minutes and clears caches and other things that may resolve your problem.

A lot of times just boot to Safe Mode followed by normal boot resolves problems.
Open System Preferences then go to Security & Privacy then go to General on the little tabs at the top and then uncheck Require Password after sleep or screen saver begins
THANK YOU VERY MUCH. That was the problem. I don't know how that area was checked to be on, but it was. Never thought to look there. Found other areas that appeared to affect this function but clearly was not the case. Again, Thanks!!

Thank you also for your suggestion. Was not the issue and safe mode did nothing. But thanks anyway. (I tried to reply when you first posted your suggestion but for some reason Apple was not letting me back into the community. Seems issue regarding that has been resolved.)
Login after sleep in Monterey required.
