No more 3D view on Apple Maps?

When I click on the 3D button in Apple Maps the map tilts slightly but nothing else happens. None of the homes are in 3D or anything else. Very frustrated as this has never happened before.

Look at this incredible 3D view!

Happened to me too. Suddenly! I used to be able to see all the walls of my house in 3D, as I circled it, but now it’s just the flat 2D that slightly changes angle when I click 3D.

It’s amazing but somewhat typical that Apple appears to be refusing to address this. There’s this false sense of wanting to fix all issues for customers, but really they just want to ignore those that they deem not negative enough to effect sales!

cbirgel,

Did you mark Jack-19's answer as an answer? Or did Apple do that? This is CLEARLY not the answer you (and many others including me) were looking. I often wonder if these are Bot answers?

Anyway, I was wondering/curious as to what happened to 3D as well. The only fix I've found so far is Google Maps.

Welcome to the Apple Support Communities.

See: View maps on iPhone - Apple Support, specifically, this section:

View a 3D map
On a 2D map, do one of the following:
Drag two fingers up.
On the Satellite map, tap 3D near the top right.
On supported models and in select cities, tap 3D near the top right. (See Detailed City Experience on the iOS and iPadOS Feature Availability website.)
On a 3D map, you can do the following:
Adjust the angle: Drag two fingers up or down.
See buildings and other small features in 3D: Zoom in.
Return to a 2D map: Tap 2D near the top right.

In SoCal, works in Bakersfield, but nothing south of there until you hit Carlsbad. Nothing on the central coast until you get to just before Santa Cruz. All of LA, Orange County, Riverside County, and Palm Springs are flat as a pancake. Las Vegas works.

I started to notice it around late 2021 or early 2022 as well. The support rep had me do a screen share as well and fortunately confirmed I’m not crazy either lol. I do find it extremely odd and ridiculous that the APPLE support reps do not have access to any Apple devices themselves..

I contacted Apple support about two months ago regarding this, the support rep didn’t know how to help me so they escalated my issue to a higher tier support rep. None of them could see what the issue was because get this, none of them are allowed to bring their Apple devices into work and do not have Apple issued devices to use at work lol.

They did however tell me that they are unaware of this issue and that no one has ever reported it before, prior to me. They told me they would address it and asked me to also leave feedback, which I did. Yet almost 2 months later this still hasn’t been fixed or addressed!!

avimech85, I contacted them about a month ago, but the support rep did a screen share with me and confirmed I'm not crazy. But they offered no insight on what could be going on — it seems this is a black hole as far as Apple's concerned.

I noticed this weirdness somewhere towards the end of 2021, but didn't have time to make noise about it. The only good thing I'm seeing is that come locations where this clearly was NOT working are now back to normal. I don't get how Los Angeles isn't working, but we're not as important as we think we are and Apple is clearly affirming that. Maybe we'll see it fixed in the next OS.

Nothing yet, this has been occurring now for at least five months and Apple hasn’t updated me and it appears no one has addressed this publicly. Perhaps someone get a journalist to bring attention to it?

I’m able to do the flyover as well, however the buildings, trees and houses are not in 3D. Only the distant terrain such as the mountains.
