Cannot boot into safe mode on my 2020 M1 MacBook Air

I have searched and tried all the possible ways I found and cannot get it to boot into safe.

MacBook Air 13″, macOS 12.2

I can't start up my iMac in safe mode I followed the instructions numerous times at Start up your Mac in safe mode - Apple Support (CA) for my M1 iMac 2021. It will not boot into safe mode. I get the loading options screen - then Volume screen - I hold down SHIFT and press continue and my iMac just boots into normal mode. What am I doing wrong? Thanks! [Re-titled by Moderator]

What if I cannot start in safe mode? I’m using a MacBook Air M1 and I need to start it in safe mode but it won’t do so. Why? What should I do about that?

Mac does not give me the option of starting up in Safe Mode I have a chip enabled 2022 Mac running Ventura 13.2.1. Following the instructions for safe startup repeatedly, I once got an option for safe mode, but the button did not stay active so I clicked the alternative. When I started up, I could not see anything different. When I attempted to check using System Settings Software, there was no Boot mode setting to see whether it had started up in Safe mode. Any advice? Thanks! [Re-Titled by Moderator]

Done that. I do not get the "“Continue in Safe Mode.”" option
