magic keyboard fn key not working for switching languages when MBP lid is closed and connected to the monitor

Hi, got a M1 MBP and a magic keyboard connected to it. The MBP is connected to an external monitor via hdmi.

When the lid is open, the magic keyboard works fine, and if I press the globe-fn key, a menu pops up allowing for me to switch the language. Once I close the lid however, the language switch stops working.

Is this a bug? If I start bashing the globe key 10-30 times, the language menu will pop up at some point.

It works fine once the lid is open.

Have same issue on same hardware but external monitor connected via usb-c.

Some details: if close macbook lid before macos loaded - Fn key on external keyboard do change language, but if open lid after macos loaded and then close lid - Fn key on external keyboard stops change language (other Fn key functions worked fine).

This issue appeared on macos 12.2.1 (21D62).

On macos 12.1 and before - no this issue.

I have the. same issue as well.

MacBook Pro 14"

macOS Monterey 12.3

Magic Keyboard with touchID

external monitor connected either via USB-C or HDMi, doesn't matter.

If the lid is closed, the globe button doesn't work for changing languages or using function keys.

However, it seems to work at certain points. If I tap the button repeatedly many times, the language changes. Then it goes back to not responding.

As soon as I open the lid it starts working properly again.
