I am still seeing the Sports Theme in iMovie 10.3.1, when I create a Trailer project, but not, when I create a movie project.
This is independent of the language setting for iMovie.
For a Trailer project:
Perhaps you could combine a Sports Trailer for the credits with a News Movie project.
Hi, léonie,
Pretty innovative, combining the Sports Trailer theme with a News Movie project theme. With a little fiddling it could be done. One wouldn't get the Movie Sports theme title options, like Sports Opening, Score, Team vs. Team, Player Stats, and logo -- but it would be possible to create manually a workable version of those items by adapting some of the standard iMovie titles.
I've still got the Movie Sports Theme running iMovie on Mojave. I wonder why Apple eliminated it, as it was popular with parents and coaches.

Yes, the last I heard is that the sports theme has been discontinued. If you are not using the current version of iMovie, you can try updating to that to see if Apple has put it back.

It looks like a bug to me. All items needed for the Sports Theme are still inside the iMovie package contents, in "Resources", as far as I can tell.
Yeah, probably so. There have been several posts on here inquiring, and some posters have contacted Apple Support, so I'm surprised that Apple hasn't fixed it yet.
