Uploading data to icloud screen stuck at 1 mintue remaining

Hi walkerlg,

So when you are resetting your ipad you tell it to do a icloud back up and it never gets past this?

you then hard restart the ipad and try again? have you backed up to icloud already? or to a computer?

if so you do not need to do this step.

It would be best if you try the same things like the iPad. if you have been waiting some time restart the phone and try again, if you keep coming across the same problem backup it before resetting it. Check the internet connection to the phone, and that you have space in icloud to back up to. and you can always back up to a computer.

When you are erasing the phone you can pick the option not to backup and just wipe the phone, have you tried this option?

I've been stuck on this for days now, I have left the device a couple of times overnight and entire day but it does not move on.

I have tried a number of suggestions such as resetting the network settings, try a forced reset, make sure the IOS version is up to date. But still no success for me.

Yes, I'm having the same issue trying to upload my data to the cloud which I don't need as I've already transferred my data to the new SE. Also, the skip the backup link doesn't work either. So frustrating :(. I just want to erase everything and send this phone in for the rebate or whatever it's called.

they do but they have already said above what to do. this normally comes down to your connection in your home etc.

You can always go to a apple store and get it looked at and maybe wiped.

Same issue here with iPhone XS Max. Won’t allow me to skip backup either. Very frustrating.

Does @applesupport read this thread? Are they doing anything to fix this problem?

Simply log out of iCloud then your iPad will allow you to delete all info.

This. This is the answer. Thank you! Here are the steps I followed that finally got me unstuck:

1) Settings - General - Reset - Reset network settings (will clear all saved WiFi, but also clears VPN and other settings)

2) Settings - General - Shut down (rebooted phone)

3) Turned off airplane mode -- Logged back into my home WiFi

4) Settings - General - Shut down (rebooted phone, again)

5) Settings - General - Erase all content and data (clicked "skip back" and it FINALLY worked!!)

6) Clicked "Erase this iPhone" (this is your last warning...make sure you don't need your old phone for anything else)

7) Shipped my wiped/cleaned/old phone back for my rebate :)

I am trying to factory reset my daughter's phone.

I can't select skip backup (the tap does not respond to that), I disabled all the icloud features and trying resetting again, it will still attempt to backup God knows what.

Then I said, I will try to log her our from icloud, it stays forever at "removing icloud data"

The phone's screen is half broken, so I think my solution here is to hammer it down to dust.

So much for the best software on earth, right? :)
