How can I correct inaccurate sleep data on Series 7 watch?

I recently bought my first Apple Watch, a Series 7. I've noticed that a couple of times a week, the sleep information isn't accurate. Last night, I woke up at 4:50 am, then laid in bed for a while, and the watch thinks I slept until 5:42, which is when I got out of bed.

I tried correcting the inaccurate data earlier this week by going into the Health app on my iPhone, clicking on Sleep, and using the Add Data button. But when I entered the correct information for Asleep > Ends, it didn't register as entered; weirdly, the bar graph now showed I was asleep in the late morning. (See Thursday entry in photo.)

What is the right way to correct sleep data registered by the Apple Watch? Thanks.

Hello CT2NY,

We'd like to help manage your sleep data.

Since you've tried to edit and you can't, try to delete it and add it again correctly. Open the the Health app, tap Browse, then tap Sleep. Select today. Scroll to the bottom and tap "Show All Data." From here, you can select Edit in the upper-right corner and then select the slot that you're wanting to delete. Once deleted, you can add the new data correctly.

We hope this helps.

Cheers.

Thank you, but it doesn't seem to be working.

When I woke up this morning, my sleep data was wrong -- I fell asleep later than recorded, and woke up a bit later. So I deleted the data and entered correct data: asleep at 11:30 pm, awake at 6:31 am today. And now the sleep data graph bar shows I was asleep from 6 pm to 6:31 am.

I had a similar issue with my Monday sleep data, as you can see. The bars show I slept from about 10 pm to 6 am, and also noon to 6 pm... which overlaps with the Tuesday sleep data.

I don't understand what I'm doing wrong, and I'm increasingly frustrated at how difficult it is to enter accurate information.
