Cannot open my Final Cut Pro project anymore

Hi all,

I cannot open my Final Cut Pro project anymore.

The library opens.

I have opened the "Original Media" folder on my disk and have discovered

a few corrupted files, which I have replaced with healthy ones again.

However, this still doesn't allow me to open the projects.

Once, I try, it crashes or freezes the app.

A few projects within the same library open, while some don't.

Using an external hard drive for the files:

A brand-new SanDisk Extreme Pro Portable SSD 4tb.

Have the latest version of FCP installed.

My Laptop:

MacBrook Pro 16 inch, 2021

M1 Pro

16gb memory

OS 12.2.1 installed

A few things:

med is probably ok, but libraries should not be in ExFAT drives. This may have to do with the present situation
FCP backs up libraries automatically. Did you try, as previously suggested, to open a backup from within FCP?

It looks like there is some corruption in the library.

You could try opening a recent backup of the library: File->Open->From Backup

Yes, both media and the library are on the external drive.

Drive is formatted in ExFAT

Is the library on the external drive, and the media stored inside the library? How is the external drive formatted?

Thank you very much! I didn't know FCP makes automatic backups! I found a version that works.

I appreciate your help.

Good to know that formatting the external disk is crucial. Will work on that now
