New MacBook Pro crashes several times a day with a kernel panic

The system reboots randomly multiple times a day, especially after waking up (lid opened etc).

The following message appears at the top of the crash log:


panic(cpu 0 caller 0xfffffe001e7eec98): busy timeout[0], (60s): 'IOUserEthernetController' @IOService.cpp:5520



MacBook Pro 16″, macOS 12.0

Kernel Panics are predominately caused by hardware faults or faulty third-party kernel extensions.


Learn what to do if your computer restarts or shuts down unexpectedly, or you get a message that your computer restarted or shut down because of a problem.
