Text Message Shows Up With email address instead of contact name

I tried to send a photo to my wife by using the Messages app and sending the photo to her email address. Instead of it going to her email, it went to her phone. Ever since, every text message she sends me shows up as being from her email address instead of her name. I don’t see her email address in my contact list anywhere. Why is it doing this, and how do I stop it?

If the email address you used for her is her Apple ID email, then that sounds right. It would go to her phone. This is then a message thread, so if she responds to it, it will appear to come from her email.

Have her start a new message thread and select your phone number. Or go to your contacts app, find her.. select to send a message.

If you want to send a photo to her email, you might be better off using the Mail app.
