Apps start "loading" when attempting to open

Google didnt help when searching for my problem, kept getting the app "stuck loading" solutions which is not what I am having. So here I am...

When I try to open a rarely used app, it starts "loading". Sometimes I am in a spot with poor data connection and this becomes super annoying. This is only for randomly used apps, so I thought offload unused apps setting was on, it was NOT. I go to App store, looks for app updates by swiping down, get all the available updates, find another seldom used app, hit it to open, and boom, it starts "loading"! And one more thing, UPS app for example... I needed it to track a package, tried to open, started loading. Once it was done, tried to open again, this time said the app needed to be updated as there was a never version. I just searched for the updates and none was offered??? Why didnt the new one showed up as an available update and why wasnt the latest version installed when "loading"?

Iphone 6s running 15.3.1 but this has been happening on previous versions as well.

Hey mokanss,

If we understand correctly, you are trying to download apps, but they get stuck loading. It may be that there is a connectivity issue. If the app says there is an update but isn't available, try removing the app and downloading it again from the App Store. We would recommend you use these articles to help troubleshoot the issue.

If you connect to a Wi-Fi network will they load?

"Prioritize the download

From the Home Screen, touch and hold the app. From the menu that appears, choose Prioritize Download."

If you can’t download or update apps on your iPhone or iPad

"Delete the app, then redownload it

Delete the app. When you do this, you might lose data that was stored in the app. Then redownload the app. Then check to see if the problem with the app is fixed."

If an app on your iPhone or iPad stops responding, closes unexpectedly, or won’t open

Please don't hesitate to let us know if you need additional assistance.

Nope, that is not it. As I mentioned in my first sentence, my problem is NOT being stuck loading apps.

These app already installed on my phone BUT are rarely used. Then a after a while when I try to use these apps, they start "loading" first, followed by "installing". As if they didn't update for months due to being dormant and when I try to open them, they are trying to catch up. Doesnt matter if I try to update all the apps by going to the app store and look for available updates and update ALL apps. Offload unused apps are OFF, automatic updates are ON (both over WIFI and Cell) and I still get these.

The issue becomes annoying when trying to use one of these apps where there is no wifi and/or poor cell coverage. They try to load but of course can't due to no/poor date and you can't use the app. If they had updated like all other apps when you update them all, this wouldnt be an issue. Again, this is only for rarely used apps.
