why is my messagas sending through my email when i txt people but i didn’t t change my number

why r my text messages coming through as my email address? and how do i change that.

iMessage works both with wifi, and by paid service with your phone provider.


Texts you send and receive using iMessage don’t count against your SMS/MMS allowances in your cellular messaging plan.

If Wi-Fi is unavailable, iMessages will be sent over cellular data. Then cellular data rates may apply.


An iPhone generally works according to how it is set up.

Ensure Messages app Settings are set up in the way you want.


To turn iMessage on or off, go to Settings > Messages.

If you're not using iMessage, you can use SMS/MMS.


And

Check that your phone number is available for use in Messages app.

Add or remove your phone number in Messages or FaceTime - Apple Support
