You didn’t mention that this was on a Roku, which would have been very helpful to know. The Apple TV app on Roku is treated just like any other app and can not communicate with other apps, so you would only have access to content available directly in the TV app. Since it has no connection to Peacock it will only show you the option to buy from iTunes when viewed on Roku, and you would have to use the Peacock app directly instead.

This differs on iPhone, where the TV app is built into the OS and can connect with other apps on that platform. If you have started a queue on iPhone then you would have to manually update it after watching content through apps on Roku.

If you have connected apps that provide content also available in the iTunes Store (via TV app) then you may see pricing for those shows when you view in Apple's app. If it is not defaulting to a connected app for playback then you can scroll down to where it says "How To Watch" and select the appropriate app. If you continually have an issue then you can reach out to the app developer.

That's not what I said. There will be shows offered through a HBO or Peacock subscription that are also available for purchase in the Apple TV app (hence the price). However, when you have those providers connected then it should default to those services, which will switch over to their app for playback. In the event that it does not then you can go to the episode in question using the up next queue, press/hold on the remote touchpad to bring up the details and scroll down to where it says "How To Watch" where you will select the appropriate service. It would be up to those 3rd party services to maintain proper connection to Apple's TV app so if you continue to have the issue with playback you would need to contact the app developer.
