HBO max on iPad won't airplay to Apple TV 2nd generation.

Your issue seems localized to your setup. HBO Max loads fine on my Apple TV 4K.

Try this for any misbehaving app:

1. Force-quit the app, then relaunch and try again.
2. If the issue persists, force-quit the app, restart the device, then relaunch and try again.
3. If the issue still persists, delete the app, re-download and try again.
4. If the issue still persists, then contact the app developer for further assistance.

this is incorrect. The only way i can watch hbo max currently on my apple tv 4k is through airplaying it from my ipad pro. Due to the fact that tv os 15.4 broke hbo max. I still get 4k and dolby audio, just lose the inconvenience from the hbo max app on apple tv.

You don't, HBO will not allow HBO Max to be Airplayed. Have you considered buying an Apple TV 4K, you can find them as low as $99 if you look.

Your welcome, Apple TV 4Ks are a huge upgrade over your 2nd generation ATV. If you have never seen one working you will open up a completely new (and better) experience.
