Historically, third-party batteries from vendors other than OWC/MacSales have been horrendous.

Buy from a Vendor with a reputation worth defending, not a fly-by-night you will never see again.

Caveat Emptor.

Go with an official Apple battery repair if at all possible. With the official Apple battery repair you will also get a new Keyboard, & Trackpad which can be very important because of all the butterfly keyboard issues. If you have the Touchbar model, then you also get a new Touchbar and speakers.

Even OWC's batteries can have issues so be careful even with them. It is not easy to replace the battery with a third party battery since they are glued onto the bottom of the palmrest. You must use extreme care not to damage the battery and also are responsible for safely storing the removed battery and properly recycling it. There are some very fragile and easily damaged cables & connectors.
