Can applications such as Apple Mail, MS Outlook, and/or Mozilla Thunderbird use the 0Auth2 authorization system to access email? Google has just notified me that as of 30 May 2022 'less secure' apps may lose the ability to access Gm,ail. I really don't want to 'login with Google' or use the web app.

FWIW, I have 4 Gmail accounts and have yet to receive any message from Google.
Ok. tried that with both my gmail accounts.
I think that sometime before 30 May I'm going to finally pay for a hosting service and set up my own domain and use email from there. And abandon gmail.
