How to get a gogoinflight popup to show on my laptop after connecting to the network.

Every-time I am on a flight and select the available network (typically gogoinflight), a pop up never appears for me to agree to terms & conditions, select an access plan/purchase wifi or connect to stream/basic free texting. I've had this issue in the past using a different device, but spent 3 hours trying to troubleshoot on my last flight. I've cleared cache/cookies, forgot the network, turned off and on wifi, tried chrome and safari, and probably restarted my computer 25 times. It finally pop-up after 3 hours of troubleshooting, but how can I get this to appear after selecting the network in the future. In the past I've also had a URL that would manually bring the pop-up up, however that no longer works. I've tried URLs like wifi.gogoinflight.com (which the rep at gogo told me should work without internet), captive.gogoinflight.com, etc., but no luck. My company mentioned this is a known issue on Apple devices and has something to do with the Captive Portal Access, but weren't able to assist further. Any ideas on how to get the pop up after selecting the network in the future or how to fix this? Other context, this happens on most flights I go on, but last time it was Alaska airlines, I have a MacBook Pro (16-inch, 2019) with the most up to date software - Monterey (12.2.1)

open a Browser and enter:

1.1.1.1

this numeric web address causes web activity WITHOUT having to do a (prohibited) Domain Name Server (DNS) lookup. Often you will get your login page in response.

What normally happens is that you get the CloudFlare splash page. CloudFlare is not part of this solution, they just have the absolute easiest to remember numeric IP address on the internet.

Hi kmeisner,

Great question! We're glad to hear it now works as intended, and that you're able to connect your Mac to the Wi-Fi network.

Regarding any questions after connecting to a third-party Wi-Fi network, you'll need to reach out to the Wi-Fi network provider regarding this.
