ethernet
I accidentally deleted the ethernet option on the left in system preferences-network. I see how to make another option but it doesn't connect the ethernet like the original select did. How do I fix this?

After adding it back you need to manually connect t the first time. If you want it to connect automatically select that option.
Obviously you need to know your network's name and its password before you can establish a connection.
