Messages notifications silenced when Focus is off

Hi! I have Focus turned off, yet it shows I have notifications silenced in Messages. Is there another area in Settings that would silence these notifications?

Focus also seems to be affecting the MacBook Pro I use for work. I don’t get all Google Calendar event alerts when Focus is turned off. Some appear in the Notification Center and some don’t, which has caused me to miss meetings.

I have it turned off, so Focus isn’t shared accords devices; however, it still hasn’t resolved the problem.

Any solutions?

Greetings shayl0,

There are indeed some other places we can check on these settings. It sounds like the people you message are seeing a message that your notifications are silenced.

First, in the thread itself. Tap the contact’s name at the top and then toggle off Share Focus Status.

Another thing you can do is in Settings > Privacy > Focus, turn Messages On.

In Settings > Focus, do you have any Do Not Disturb functionality set to come one automatically? If so, does remove that pre-set change anything?

If you have any other iOS/iPadOS devices that use the same Apple ID, even if they are not currently charged or powered can, can you please power them on and make sure there was not a Focus enabled when they powered off?

Thanks.
