the apps in the launchpad have stopped allowing me to quit by using the mouse

Refer to below picture of my Launchpad on my computer. When I launch and Application Launchpad disappears and the Open Application os on the screen.

To Close the Open Application with the mouse >> Top Left of Application Window is a Red Dot, a Yellow Dot and Green dot. Click the Red Dot will close the Application.

FWIW, clicking the "Red Dot" does not quit the majority of apps. It only closes the open window.
