What does the Total under exercise mean ?

Is it total hours wearing the Watch that day?

Thanks for coming to Apple Support Communities for help today.


It appears you have seen the correct article regarding Activity on your Apple Watch. From your description it sounds like you are looking at the Exercise goal.


"The Exercise ring shows how many minutes of brisk activity you've completed. Complete your daily Exercise goal by exercising for at least 30 minutes each day."


You can change that number. For instructions, please see: Change your goals on your Apple Watch.


"Change your goals


  1. Open the Activity app on your Apple Watch.
  2. Swipe up, then tap Change Goals.
  3. Tap to increase or decrease the number of active calories for your daily Move goal, then tap Next.
  4. Tap to increase or decrease the number of minutes for your daily Exercise goal, then tap Next.
  5. Tap to increase or decrease the number of hours for your daily Stand goal, then tap Ok.


If you don't see the option to update your Stand and Exercise goals, make sure you update to the latest version of watchOS."
