Garbled text in left column of Mail on iPad Pro

My wife's iPad Pro produces garbled text in the left column of Mail for one of the several emails in that column. As soon as I click on that garbled text, it clears and the garbled text section moves up or down to another email in the same column. I did a screen shot of just the garbled text to avoid displaying personal emails. This garbling does not occur on her iPhone 6S. Just on her iPad Pro purchased a year

ago. This is annoying but not earth shattering.
