iMac M1 not seeing iPad.

When I connect my iPad Air 2 to my new iMac M1 it is not seen. They are both running the latest iOS for each. On my old iMac iTunes open and I could back it up and photos opened and downloaded the latest additions. Is it different now?

Finder is now used instead of iTunes.

Open Finder and select the iPad listed on the sidebar.
