I have MacOS Monterey Version 12.2.1 - is the legacy system extension version OneDrive installed on my mini mac -should I download the updated version OneDrive that is compatible with macOS Monterey 12.3?

As of 1 February 2019, OneDrive only supports new installations on Mac OS 10.12 or newer. For more information, see OneDrive End Of Support Notice

MacOs Monterey 12.3 is still in beta. I would wait for the system update unless you are having trouble with OneDrive.
