MacBook Air enabled Touch ID

My MacBook Air keeps saying that I a password is required to enable Touch ID but I don’t have a password?

It's asking for your login password. If you don't know what it is, refer to If you forgot your Mac login password - Apple Support.

If you get stuck somewhere, describe the step at which you are unable to proceed.
