Done button on trim video edit grayed out on iPhone 13 Pro Max

I can't trim video on my iPhone 13 Pro Max 15.3.1 The done button is grayed out. None of the fixes I've found are working. I updated to IOS 15.3.1, and restarted the phone. No change. I tried sending myself a copy and editing the copy, another suggested fix but that option didn't work either. I don't know how long this has been a problem as I seldom edit video on my iPhone. I've had this phone for about 3 months. I am able to perform other edits and there's no problem with photos. The problem is simply trimming video length.

I am having the same issue and found a workaround. It seems that if I trim from the end if the video first, and then the front, I can hit "done." But if I try to trim the front first, "done" is grayed out. So even if you do not want to trim the end, start there and just slide it back, then do the front. Clearly a bug.

Thank you, I had the same problem and your fix really helped but I’d like to add that you grab & hold the edge of the box until it illuminates in yellow… then move to desired location & done will illuminate.
